MENTAL HEALTH TRAININGS

Supporting the mental health of your team is critical, especially in these challenging times. Did you know that the COVID crisis has been named a world-wide mental health crisis? It has. And it matters.

Please note: All of my mental health content is developed in conjunction with Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) Michelle L. Cyr to ensure high quality, accurate information which incorporates best practices in current mental health practices.

U.S. MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID CERTIFICATION

logo-drop-shadow-2x.png

Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. The training helps you identify, understand and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses, including panic attacks, self-injury, traumatic event triggers, overdose, and more. The 8-hour course leads to a certification in Adult Mental Health and is a valuable skill that can help save lives. Trainings available for organizations and individuals. Please email Emily or fill in the inquiry form to learn more and set up a training for your team.

An Important Note about Trainings offering Mental Health-related Certifications:

Before enrolling in or paying for any Mental Health training that calls itself a "certification," (or promises a "certification" for individuals on your team, or even for your organization if a certain percent of the team attends the training), make sure to do your due diligence. The only organization in the USA that is currently offering true certification in Mental Health first aid is the National Council for Behavioral Health through the US MHFA program (www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org/)

The full US MHFA certification may not be the way to go for your team - and if that's the case, there are organizations, Bright Moose LLC included, that offer additional trainings and learning opportunities to prepare your staff to manage mental health challenges. But buyer beware of programs offering certifications that are not true certifications as these options can potentially open your organization up to liability. If you have any questions as you seek out the right trainings for your team, please do not hesitate to call or email Emily (781-430-8358 or emily@brightmoosetraining.com) to talk through options.

Please note that Bright Moose does not offer any certifications for mental health other than the US MHFA certification, for which Emily is a certified national Instructor. We are, however, happy to customize non-certification trainings on a variety of topics for your specific team!
